This writer has been finding out views of parliamentarians and students what they made of the 156 million dollar loan facility the government of Ghana has secured to pursue educational projects including the controversial sanitary pad component.
Although the minority bloc voted against the loan facility citing inflated cost and high consultancy charges, the majority side voted in favour of the facility despite concerns raised by the minority.
The project forms part of government’s promise to build 200 new Senior High Schools across the country. `
Part of the loan facility will also be used as scholarship for students in deprived areas who may have difficulties in paying their fees.
