According to music man Bessa Simons, he seeks to win the 1st vice president slot to better implement his policies and programmes to enrich the music landscape having served as 2nd Vice President.
He explained despite threats of injunction placement, a meeting with the contestants at the MUSIGA office gives him the belief that everything is on course as the election committee chairman, Ben Brako has also not give any indication that something is amiss.
Bessa Simons made these disclosures when he was quizzed by Kwesi Aboagye on his ‘Entertainment Review’ show. Bessa added that all the candidates vying for positions agreed to conduct clean and civil campaigns and since that meeting nothing untoward has erupted from any camp.
The ‘belembe’ hitmaker suggested that to perhaps make the election campaign livelier, a presidential debate might be scheduled to hear what the candidates intend doing upon assumption of office.
Positions being vied for include President, General Secretary, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Organizer and Welfare slots although the presidential slot remains the keenly contested with incumbent Obour, Appietus and Gyedu Blay Ambulley throwing in their hats.
Over 140 delegates are expected to cast their vote in Koforidua. Mr. Simons mentioned, the event is expected to be brief as only the presidential and organizer slots shall be contested with the others going unopposed.
