A vociferous member of the opposition New Patriotic Party, popularly known as Hajia Fati, has been granted bail by the police following her arrest early on Wednesday, over her alleged involvement in the attack on the vehicle belonging to Kwabena Agyepong, the party’s General Secretary.
The rear windscreen of Mr. Agyepong’s 4-wheel drive was crashed at the NPP headquarters on Tuesday by unknown persons, after he left a Steering Committee meeting, where he had gone to inform the leadership of a pending court suit over the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko.
The NPP condemned the attack and promised to investigate the matter. The party’s Deputy Communications Director Perry Okudzeto also announced the decision of the Steering Committee to fix the broken windscreen.
But Mr. Agyepong on Wednesday lodged an official complaint at the Police Headquarters leading to the arrest of Hajia Fati.
A source close to the party told Citi News that Mr. Agyepong’s personal driver who fingered Hajia Fati for the attack, said he saw some supporters hailing her after the crash. She has since been granted bail pending further investigations.
