It’s not every day that Uniiq FM’s morning show co-hosted by Nii Obodai Wentum and George Sappor attracts entertainment gurus but when Efya passed through, it was a delightful experience.

Efya sensing the national reach of Uniiq FM or Radio Ghana opted to use the medium to announce the launch of her maiden album ‘Janesis’ on 22nd April 2016 at Plot 7, Nyaniba Estates.

As to why it’s taken so long for an album of hers to drop, Efya opined “well even though it’s now that the maiden album is ready, I have offered award winning singles and mixtapes so we good. We needed to have the right feel hence the long wait but its ready now and folks will love it.”

Describing her music as Afro Soul, Efya stated in the interview with George Sappor monitored by blakkpepper.com that anyone who secures a copy of the album will feel her presence thanks to the emotions/words and touch she offers.

Having worked with Nigerians Lynxx, Wizkid, Icon, Banky W and others, the ‘Little Things’ crooner noted that it is the market strategy, record label structure as well as the population size which makes the difference regarding the Ghana/Nigerian music landscape.

“Lagos alone has more people than Ghana that alone makes a difference. If my CDs are sold both in Ghana and Nigeria when I sell 20,000 copies in Ghana, I would have sold 100, 000 CDs in Nigeria. Thankfully my music is making inroads over there, slowly but surely” the lady with a soulful sound affirmed.

The ‘One of Your Own’ singjay reiterated her determination to secure a Grammy win intimating that with an album, World Music, Kora nominations and international collaborations she is surely on the road to victory.
