EIB Network’s urban youth brand, LIVE 91.9 FM, partners Viacom International Media Networks, owners of the successful global network BET for this year’s BET Awards.

Live FM will be the official media network in Ghana for the awards which take place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on June 26.

Station executives say the partnership will see LIVE FM playing a key partnership role in the Best International Act: Africa category, which for the past few years has been a point of interest for most followers of the BET Awards.

Speaking to Naa Ashorkor and AJ Sarpong on The Zone, Business Manager at LIVE 91.9 FM, Jay Foley, said LIVE FM will have the opportunity to broadcast the three-day event live, from 24-26th June,2016.

Foley added one lucky listener gets the opportunity to join the team to Los Angeles, saying “all you have to do is have a valid passport and a visa, tune in to Live FM, call in and answer a few questions and the winner gets all expense paid trip to join the LIVE FM trip team to Los Angeles.

“LIVE FM will also be part of the Radio room where up to 50 radio stations nationwide, will have direct access to talk to some of the celebrities who will win awards on the night”

Meanwhile, the 2016 VGMA Artiste of the Year, will join the team as well to Los Angeles.

Ghana is making a strong case in this year’s nominations list with Mzvee making an appearance in the Best International Act: Africa category. This is Ghana’s fifth nomination after Kojo Antwi, Sarkodie, R2Bees and Stonebwoy.

The BET Awards is in its 16th year. This year’s will honour artists, actors and athletes across 20 categories, and will also feature a tribute to Prince.
