Elton Jorge Nunez is to aid the Phobians ambitions by using technology to analyse matches in addition to unearthing talent

Hearts of Oak have named Portuguese Elton Jorge Nunez as video analyst and scout of the club.

He becomes the latest expatriate to join the Accra-based outfit following the appointment of compatriot Sergio Traguil as youth team coach last month.

The latter has since taken over the first team on an interim basis following the departure of Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

“I am happy to arrive at Accra Hearts of Oak to be the analyst and do scouting report for the team,” Nunez told the club’s website.

“I analyze teams, I scout young talent and that is why we are trying to build a basis [U17 team] and to search for kids here in Accra, and then try to spread it out to all Ghana.

“We are trying to bring [exceptional] talents to the club, young talents before they reach the late ages [in football].

“I am here to try to do the best for the team and compromise with the team and the board. We will try to improve every day.”

Nunez was in the stands when the Phobians drew with Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The club say he will be with the team until the end of the season.
