Having expressed their disgust over the Daily Dispatch story implying the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had sent a memo to members urging them to peddle falsehoods about the government and warned of taking the matter to court should the paper fail to retract and apologise, the paper has offered an apology.

Ben Ephson’s paper in the Thursday, August 18, 2016 issue rendered: “Retraction & Apology to the NPP – Based on the assertion by the NPP that the said memorandum was not theirs, we retract and apologise to the NPP – Editor.”

At a press conference addressed by acting General Secretary John Boadu on Wednesday August 18, the NPP asked Mr. Ephson to and retract the publication, which the party had described as fabricated and fake.
