7 distinguished Ghanaians were honoured by the Socialist Forum of Ghana on Founder’s Day, September 21, 2016 for their various roles in advancing the cause of Ghana and Africa.

They among other considerations were recognized for fighting western imperialism and exploitation.

The 7 including Akilakpa Sawyer, Kojo Tsikata, Kofi Duku, Johnny Hanson and G.A. Balogun received the‘Black Star Excellence Award’.

For years, the Socialist Forum of Ghana championed by veteran journalist, Kwesi Pratt of the Insight Newspaper has held lectures on February 24 to mark Ghana’s ‘Day of Shame’ involving the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah’s government as well as marking his Earthday on September 21.

This time however the Forum decided to award deserving comrades for their work over the years.
