Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu Nketia alias General Mosquito pooh poohed Nana Addo’s pledge of bringing to being, a Cashew Development Board when made president to make the crop, a major local and foreign exchange earner while improving the lives of the farmers.
The General Secretary of the NDC, told supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the 2016 manifesto document launch that the forbears of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) functionaries including Danquah, Busia and key backers in Ashanti vigorously fought Ghana’s founding father, Kwame Nkrumah when he set up the Ghana Cocoa Board to facilitate cocoa farming, trading and export.
He thundered, the cocoa farmers plus the NPP founding fathers who wanted a separatist state (matimihu fuo) from Ghana opposed use of cocoa funds to develop other Ghanaian areas because of the believe that since they were the major cocoa farmers, funds from their fruits must not be used to develop other Ghanaian regions cutting down their profit margins.
Mr. Nketia described the NPP’s presidential candidate’s Cashew Board pledge as dishonest at best and at worst, an effect of having consumed a bad meal hence the cheap talk.
He further threw a challenge John Boadu, the NPP’s Organiser also acting as General Secretary who he labeled as ‘Pretending Secretary’ to not shy away from debates but make himself available when the citizenry want them to engage on their various party policies so they can make an informed choice for the December polls.
