Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been elected to the FIFA Executive Council after beating Madagarscan opponent 31-30.
The GFA boss secured one of two slots and will serve till new elections are held in March of 2017.
Nyantakyi’s win is a first for a Ghanaian Sports Executive to serve on the FIFA Executive Council which is the decision making arm of World Football’s Body.
Nyantakyi who is also the West African Football (WAFA) President is credited with sending the Black Stars to the World Cup three straight times after years of failing to qualify.
