As the race heats up to the December 7 elections, the Korle Klottey constituency is one to look for.
The constituency has the curious case of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) fielding their parliamentary aspirant, Philip Addison but former NPP Constituency Chairman, Nii Noi Nortey peeved that the party agreed to a rerun of the primaries he had won, is also contesting as an independent candidate.
On the National Democratic Congress (NDC) front, incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Nii Armah Ashitey also peeved and seething with anger for purported unfair treatment from the party is also threatening going as an independent candidate despite the NDC fielding Dr. Zenator Rawlings as their MP aspirant.
On a recent Kasapa FM interview, Nii Noi Nortey, Dr. Zenator Rawlings together with Philip Addison were hosted where Philip Addison acknowledged that the hardships in the constituency required central government intervention.
“I can’t solve all the problems confronting Korle Klottey constituency alone. I will need the central government to help in some projects that will bring meaningful impact on the lives of the people,” he noted adding “the NPP will tackle flooding in the constituency just like former President Kufuor did at Alajo some years ago when the party was in power. For eight years that the NPP was in power, Odawna wasn’t flooding. But when the NPP left office, Odawna has been flooding whenever it rains heavily. So, the first thing that we will do is to solve this problem when voted into office.”
He also urged the electorates to vote for Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“A lot of young men and women are jobless. So when we come to power, we are going to get them jobs to do under the one-district-one factory and one-million-one-constituency policies that will be introduced by Nana Akufo-Addo,” he added.
