The Head of the Political Department of University of Ghana has stated at an interactive session held to scrutinize the manifesto documents of the NPP, NDC and CPP that all the parties have similar plans to advance the welfare of vulnerable persons especially children.
Mr. Asare noted the political parties have ambitious plans to intervene and uplift marginalized persons but it remains to be seen if they will have the political will to implement the proposals when they wield power.
The session also revealed certain facilities which ought to serve as shelter for vulnerable youth rather serve as centres where rape of both boys and girls, sodomy and other abuses occur.
It emerged certain supposedly reform institutions rather expose the youth to increased explicit language sexual abuses and violent conduct hardening the inmates such that when they come out reoffend and end up in the system once more.
