Ghanaian citizens can expect state farms to be reintroduced in a Greenstreet government. According to the Convention People’s Party (CPP) presidential nominee, the Nkrumah era state farm operations will be reactivated to ensure food security and raise the standard of living of citizens.
Mr. Greenstreet made the revelation at Begoro in the Fanteakwa district of the Eastern Region where his convoy was met by crowds of market women who shepherded him to the chief’s palace.
The frustrated market women moaned about depressive economic conditions negating all their long hours under the sun selling since they make little money calling on the CPP leader and lawyer to attend to their needs when he becomes president.
Osaberima Awuah Kotoko expressed delight that the CPP presidential nominee chose to call on him by respecting custom adding he wishes the nominee well in his endeavours.
The country currently imports bags of rice, sugar and other grains from Brazil, the U.S, U.K and from African states like Burkina Faso, Senegal and Nigeria.
