ranieri-iiThe fairy tale is over as Leicester City has announced the sacking of manager Claudio Ranieri nine months after he led the club to win its only premier league title.

The club leadership noted it was the most difficult decision it had to make but had to consider the overall interest of the club.

The Foxes currently sit just one place and one point off the relegation zone in a season which has gone awfully wrong.

“This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City but we are duty-bound to put the Club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be,” vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said.
