For many music loving Ghanaians, in no particular order Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede rank as their 3 best Ghanaian musicians. The challenge however rises when they are asked to rank the three.
And in a recent interview, music maestro Kojo Antwi seemed to suggest despite their quality, Daddy Lumba known for his currency and Amakye Dede praised for his longevity in the music game are no match for him.
“I think when it comes to comparison, I’m not saying Daddy Lumba doesn’t deserve to be there, but I think my target as being with the Angélique Kidjo, Salif Keita, Youssou N’Dour, [I am way up]. If you don’t achieve that, you will fall in between,” Mr. Antwi submitted in a recent interview.
The Kora Awards winner and Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards nominee in a chat with DJ Black also revealed he was putting finishing touches to a new album he intends to release by March.
A prolific musician, Kojo Antwi has 22 albums to his credit and plays the keyboard, guitar and drums.
The dreadlock brethren who also serves as the Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) which seeks to safeguard the interest of musicians.
