lashibie-klImmediate and external family members, close friends, course mates and well-wishers were on hand at the Lashibi Funeral Homes to bid farewell to bubbly damsel, Jasmine Yvonne Rida who had drawn her last breath on January 14, 2017.

Jasmine is said to have suffered from pulmonary embolism often caused by a blood clot in the leg that breaks loose and travels to the lungs.

Her funeral service and eventual cremation was aptly handled by professionals at the Lashibi Funeral Homes located opposite the Ghana Highways Quarters on the Nungua – Lashibi – Ashiaman Road.

The choice of cremation, blakkpepper gathers was an option chosen by the deceased and communicated to intimate associates as a way her body was to be disposed even before the January 14 event.

Although a weekday event which limited some from paying their respects, the African University College of Communications (AUCC) mates with whom Jasmine secured a Diploma in Communications in 2008 were in session to see off their one-time mate including Dada Oliseh, Beverly Jecty, Richard Osei, Sena Dzansi, Richard Quarshie, Yram Amevedzi, Naomi Susuawu, Mavis Lamptery and lecturer George Laing as well as this writer.

At 35 years, having been born on December 7, 1981, Jasmine who was a Manchester United avid fan was only in the afternoon of her life when she fell, little wonder then that siblings Eugene, Michelle, Afua and Hayet remain stunned by the development. Reason Papa, Major Ibrahim Rida (rtd) and Mama Nora Grace feel the grief even more.

The Nketiaa and Owusu Akyem Royal Families in Akropong-Akuapem, Kellette and Ako-Awi Clan of Akuapem Adukrom have indeed lost a pearl.

Blakkpepper gathers Jasmine was not married and did not leave behind a child.

On the occasion that final rites have been performed for your exit from this realm, this writer who encountered you in 2016 at AIJC now AUCC can only hope you journey on well, find peace and if you are to revisit this realm, that life treats you better.

Farewell Jasmine Yvonne Rida!

Adios Good Fella!
