Bola Ray turns 40, marks 20 years as media man

The well wishes continue to pour in from employees, colleagues, superiors, friends, relations, fans and associates for Bola Ray real name Nathan Kwabena Anokye- Adisi, the Ghanaian broadcaster who turns 40 today, having come to the world through the mining community of Obuasi on March 1, 1977.

bola-ray-20150801_093752Today also marks 20 years since first hugging radio work on Legon-campus based Radio Univers. The larger than life don also used the day to renew marital vows with wife, Lady Dorcas.

From Radio Univers to Top Radio to Joy FM to Music Music to Ghana Meets Naija Concert to Empire Entertainment and to EIB Network, Mr. Anokye- Adisi has proven he’s got stamina and enough gas in the tank to last the journey.

Bola came into his own and gained critically acclaim when he served as the late-afternoon show host on Accra based Joy 99.7 FM.  His verve, varied playlists and distinct voice meant he became part of the lives of city dwellers and global audiences for some 11 years.

Today, he is the CEO of the Empire Group of Companies comprising Empire Entertainment and Empire Records and CEO of EIB Network, managers of Starr FM, GH One TV, Live FM, Abusua FM, Empire FM, the Heritage Newspaper.

His ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ Concert is keenly anticipated, little wonder then that he has rightly been honoured with numerous prizes, awards and citations.

The Accra Academy youngster today turns 40 and we at blakkpepper wish you even more good health, strength and wealth Bola Ray s.k.a. Bolex.
