Mediamark Ghana, 1st subsidiary of Mediamark South Africa, has held its second thought leader series with its clients at the Champs Sports Bar, Paloma Hotel. The event which was on the theme, ‘The Case studies’, gave major clients of Mediamark Ghana an opportunity to share very innovative, value-for- money activations Mediamark has been executing for them.
The Mediamark Thought Leader Series is a unique breakfast meeting event that is geared towards communicating and engaging with clients in order to identify their needs and creatively satisfy them.
In a less formal and relaxed setting at the Champs Sports Bar, reps from MTN, Promasidor, GT Bank, Webster University, African Regeant Hotel, Samsung, Marina Mall, and many others shared how they have benefitted from Mediamark Ghana’s creative activations and how it has improved upon their brand visibility and profitability.
Sharing MTN Ghana’s experience with Mediamark Ghana, Franklin Sowah, said, ‘The Live Inside, Win The Ride’, Reality Show was an amazing activation that gave MTN value for money and gave it more traction in the digital space. Mediamark was able to convince us of the benefits of sponsoring the reality show and in the long run it paid off.’’
He commended Mediamark Ghana for their innovation and advised other agencies to emulate Mediamark by presenting value-for-money sponsorship proposals to companies, especially with regard to MTN Ghana.
On their part, Promasidor Ghana Limited, represented by Emmeline Tagoe, said, “the Mother’s Day Cooking Contest and the Valentine Mass Wedding Cooking Competition are two interesting initiatives with Mediamark that have connected our brand with the general public. Our expectations in terms of audience numbers and profitability were exceeded with these activations and others that we have executed with the Mediamark team.’’ We at Promasidor look forward to more positive and progress relationship with the Mediamark in 2017, she stated.
Guinness Ghana Limited also organized ‘Area Codes’, a musical concert in collaboration with YFM to inspire young artistes to get on stage and create their own path in the music industry. Kwaku Sakyi-Cann who elaborated on the issue said the company had seen a significant shift in the ‘gen-y’ association and promised to continue supporting the partnership.
Commenting on the event, Mervyn Naidu, General Manager of Mediamark Ghana, said, “we are happy our clients are satisfied with the service we are offering them, especially as we are new in the Ghanaian market. We believe these quarterly meetings will afford us the opportunity to know what our clients are want and what their perceptions of our brands to help us design very good packages for their businesses.’’

The first edition of the Thought Leader Meeting, which was held in Nov 2016 at the African Regent Hotel, addressed creative ways of using radio to promote brands. Speakers at the event were George Andah, Founder&CEO – Rudder Solutions, Bright Ladzekpo, MD/CEO – PHD Ghana and Nick Grubb – Chief Executive, Radio – Kagiso Media, South Africa.
Mediamark is sales representative for a range of major radio, television, digital and eventing media channels. These include e.tv Ghana, a free-to-air terrestrial television network; YFM, a youth-based radio brand with separate broadcasts in Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi; and Happy FM, a popular, sports-focused talk radio station.
