Messi taking the victory in

ronaldo-messi-iiLIONEL MESSI confirmed himself as the greatest footballer of all time with a stunning last-minute winner in Barcelona’s 3-2 win at Real Madrid tonight.

The Argentine wizard bagged his second of the game with the last kick, and pulled off an incredible celebration at the Bernabeu.

The 29-year-old tore off his shirt, ran towards the corner flag and held it aloft to the fuming Los Blancos home crowd.

He then pointed to the sky signalling a cross across his body, as Madrid supporters fired off a volley of abuse.

In obvious fashion, Twitter went crazy at the epic celebration, with most agreeing this confirmed him as the all-time great of the game.

We rated him against his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo during last night’s game… and the results show just how dominant the Argentine magician was.

Ronaldo: Did not do too much to help others or change the game – was generally left frustrated. 2/5

Messi: The vision for his goal was stunning, and he even played a part in the second. Was all over the place. 4/5

Ronaldo: Often cuts an isolated figure such is his supreme confidence, but on a poor night for the star man he just looked more and more frustrated. 2/5

Messi: His team-mates thrive off him and his aura, with unrivalled vision to bring players into the game. 3/5

Goal threat

Ronaldo: Had an early shot and missed a sitter you’d have put your house on him to score. But it was just a stinker for the Portuguese. 3/5

Messi: The quality of his equaliser is such that almost no other player in the world could really do, with such good close control. And he scored the LATEST winner. 5/5

Ronaldo: Was virtually anonymous except his sitter miss until the 80th minute when he came more into the game. But a poor night. 3/5

Messi: Was all over the place orchestrating everything for his side. And he won the game. What more do you want? 5/5

Body language

Ronaldo: He never really looks happy does he? Could not believe he had missed his sitter, but was delighted when James equalised. 3/5

Messi: Was animated, even when paper was stuffed in his mouth to stop a blood injury. Was kicked all over the park so looked shattered by the end, and took his shirt off when he scored, he was so happy 4/5

Ronaldo total: 13/25

Messi total: 21/25
