Reggae/dancehall act AK Songstress real name Akosua Kwakye managed to repel challenge from contenders MzVee, Kaakie and Cynthia Morgan to scoop the Best Female Dancehall Artiste of the Year award at the 2017 Ghana Naija Showbiz Award held in Lagos in Nigeria over the weekend.

A delighted AK took to social media to express thanks to her fans for propelling her to victory.

She’s offered tunes like ‘Rude Gyal Bad Gyal’, ‘Ghetto Cry’ featuring Sizzla, ‘Dangerous’ featuring 4×4 ,‘Rock Ur Body’ featuring Patoranking, ‘Tibidibi’ and ‘Ohemaa’ featuring Guru to warm reception.

Meanwhile another emerging Ghanaian act, Scata Bada also picked the Best New Dancehall Artiste award.
