He’s charmed audiences with his comical acts especially with his catch phrase ‘distin’ which is now a social media staple. His unique English makes laughter escape the lips of many but Lawyer Nti in the Kejetia Vs Makola series is not having it all rosy.

Faces of the show

Lawyer Ntikatakyie Bombay Isaiah Exchoirester real name Richmond Xavier Amoakoh has denied claims from certain quarters that he seeks to mock Asantes with funny expressions including ‘distin’, ‘crient’, and ‘maen’ adding the pronunciation of words with the letters ‘L’ and ‘R’ was just for the show.

“Honestly, when people say that, it saddens my heart a lot because we didn’t have any intentions of doing that. If you look at the name I use in the show, it doesn’t show that I am from the Ashanti region or from any specific place….so for somebody to tag it as ‘Kumasi’, just because we are in Kumasi and doing the thing from Kumasi, it’s sad,” he stated.

Judge Lamis

Lawyer Nti added although certain critics have descended heavily on the entire concept of the satirical show, others have confessed the show has sustained them in tough times.

Kejetia Vs Makola airs on Joy News Prime. The producer is ‘Judge’ Louis Lamis.
