Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan is already into boxing promotion, owns the Asa Music Band, JetLink Events & Logistics as well as having interest in transport, real estate, mining and student hostels.
But the Kayerispor player has a new venture he is working on. At the 2017 African Airshow at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, President Akufo-Addo in his speech on Wednesday morning noted:
“I have been reliably informed that the captain of our Senior National Team, the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, has obtained an Air Carrier License (ACL), and is working feverishly to establish an airline, called Baby Jet Airlines. I want to appeal to other Ghanaians, both home and abroad, to invest in the rapidly growing aviation sector.”
As has been the norm with his other holdings, Baby Jet Airline or BBJ Airline will be run by Samuel Anim Addo; the CEO of the Gyan Group of Companies.
For his part, Gyan expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, vowing in that he and his team will work hard to make BBJ airline dream a reality.
“Thanks President @NAkufoAddo, this is a call to work hard with my team to make the BBJ airline dream a reality soonest and create jobs.”
And curiously already, some scammers knowing the unemployed will be pitching to secure a job at BBJ have rolled out a scheme to dupe the desperate job seekers.
Gyan had to warn everyone to be guarded adding any enquiries about BBJ Airline had to be sent to his grounds man; Samuel Anim Addo.
He tweeted: “kindly ignore any social media page talking about recruitment 4 BBJ, its a scam if you need info contact my team and @AnimSammy.”
Gyan, 31 is touted as birthing 18 companies underlying the seriousness he attaches to having varied income streams to continue enjoying the good life even when he retires and the big pay cheques don’t come through.
Gyan, 31, is the all-time leading goalscorer of the senior national team (Black Stars) with 51 goals.
