They were good friends and then a music duo who offered compelling highlife music in the 80s from their German base but soon, the pair went their separate ways prompting fans to allege a grudge was the culprit.
But many years after their break to pursue solo careers, one half of the ‘Lumba Brothers’ duo, Ernest Nana Acheampong has revealed in a radio interview, circumstances which led to the parting of music ways.
“People thought our decision to go solo was because of money, a woman or something else, but I tell you nothing of that sort ever happened,… because of how we started and the good relationship we had, people exaggerated.. there was a grudge between us. I will say it was people who created those ‘beef’ it wasn’t real.”
Nana Acheampong, himself a music veteran of 26 years with 26 albums also disclosed, he plans on celebrating his 26th year in grand style informing Kumasi-based Abusua Fm listeners that his former Lumba Brothers music partner; Charles Kwadwo Fosu alias Daddy Lumba is in on the action.
Acheampong alias ‘Champion Lover Boy’ hinted at a collaborative album which will mark the reunion of the ‘Lumba Brothers’.
