The Chief Executive Officer of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards; Prince Mackay appeared on the Restoration Show with Stacy Amoateng and shed tears recalling how in 2012, after packing the dome with people and many had assumed he had broken through, the man he put in charge of the cash bolted to the US with his funds.

Mackay would narrate how close he came to taking his life after enduring the toughest 3 months of his life after losing the colossal amount.

For many, the RTP capo shed tears on TV to gain public sympathy after the award scheme came under heavy bashing but despite its faults, it remains the awards scheme honouring broadcasters across the country with heavy patronage recorded as well but reforms to the scheme must be effected fast to prevent apathy.

At this year’s awards, the 7th in the series held at the at the Accra International Centre on October 28, 2017, notable broadcaster; Nana Aba Anamoah of GHOne TV won big; scooping the RTP Personality of the Year award as well as TV Female Newscaster and presenter awards.

It’s fair to say the man who diligently built his brand interacting with political players, corporate executives and the average Joe is destined for greater things.

Ebony, Patience Nyarko, Kurl Songx and Eboo delighted attendees with their music.
