Blakkpepper is informed, veteran actor Mac Jordan Amartey has passed. According to son; Dr. Amartey; his father passed on Thursday at the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital.
The humorous actor has been ill for some time leading to the amputation of his leg a few years ago. He is said to have battled diabetes and had undergone surgery some weeks ago to enable blood to easily flow to his surviving leg instead of amputating it as blood was poorly circulating to that leg.
“The surgery went well but he suffered a stroke afterwards and has been in bad shape eventually succumbing yesterday,” Dr. Amartey revealed on Adom FM midday news.
Mac Jordan was 82 and is survived by a wife and five sons.
Mac Jordan was a part of a crop of stellar actors who dominated the film scene in the 90s together with Grace Nortey, Sheila Nortey, Fred Amugi, Victor Lutterodt, Grace Omaboe and Nat Banini.
He was loved for his unique spoken delivery and stressing of words as well as his mannerisms and was a regular staple in H.M Films and Hacky Films productions.
Movies he’s featured in include ‘You can’t Laugh’ and ‘Who Killed Nancy’?
Blakkpepper wishes the family strength in this difficult time.
