Many hold that when they come into some good money, they cold go insane, strip naked or poor the money on their bed to assure themselves their fortunes have indeed changed.
Well, for Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, upon making a few billions and to assure himself those figures were his wealth, went to his bankers, signed a cheque, withdrew some cash and packed it in his car boot, went home stared at the money convinced himself it all belonged to him and then returned to the bank the following day submitting the funds for safe keeping.
The billionaire made the claim at the Mo Ibrahim governance in Abidjan when host Mo Ibrahim, asked how he felt after earning his first million or five million.
“One day I went to a bank, and at that time, there were no restrictions, and I wrote a cheque and cashed US$10m from the bank and put it in the boot of my vehicle, and I went home and I opened it and I looked at US$10m and I said now I believe I have money,” the Nigerian business magnate, investor and owner of the Dangote Group submitted.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Aliko Dangote is currently ranked as the 74th richest man in the world as of April 6, valued at US$16.4 billion.
