British rapper Stormzy in fulfillment of his pledge to Yaw TOG of featuring on his warmly received ‘Sore’ song has visited the country for the video shoot. By 2014, Stormzy had arrested British attention with his Wicked Skengman series of freestyles over classic grime beats and he’s not looked back since.
Stormzy, born Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. to a Ghanaian mother took the opportunity to sample offerings in both Kumasi-the Ashanti regional capital and Accra, Ghana’s chief city.
In Kumasi, having arrived on Tuesday, January 5, 2020, he toured the seat of the Asantehene-Manhyia reportedly in the company of Yaw TOG, Kwesi Arthur, Eddie Kadi, Kojo Cue as well as paying the Area Bar a visit. Michael Dappah, Jae5, King Promise, Kidi, R2bees, Paedae, Kofi Jamar, Eugy, Prettyboydo, Teezee, P Montana, Funkz, Bizzle, Fastlanewez, Br3nya and Free the Youth were all in session at the Area Bar.
He also made time for church visit at the Empowerment Worship Centre during their December 31 Crossover service.
Stormzy took the opportunity to meet some of the Kumerica hit makers including O’Kenneth, City Boy, Reggie and JayBahd. The remix featuring Stormzy was performed at UPPFest at the Base Lounge.
Together with Kwesi Arthur and Yaw TOG, they also did a shoot on the Opoku Ware School (OWASS) basketball court in Santasi.
